Skills
Within the scope of Environmental Education:
- Conceive and ensure the realization of a municipal strategy of communication, awareness and education for the environment and health, through routine actions and systematized campaigns, promoting initiatives and partnerships, namely with other institutions, schools, associations and pro-environmental NGOs, agencies public and private media, companies and citizens in general;
- Coordinate the actions leading to the design of the municipal strategy for communication, awareness and education for the environment and health, the operational plans in this matter and the communication packages;
- Organize information, awareness and environmental education sessions in the neighborhoods;
- Coordinate the design and implementation of information, awareness and environmental education campaigns through the media;
- Collaborate actively in carrying out environmental training programs;
- Support initiatives under the protection program for vulnerable species, namely turtles;
- Collaborate in carrying out inspections and in assessing environmental impact studies on projects in the municipal territory;
- Collaborate with primary and secondary schools in carrying out demonstrations, lectures and other programs that raise the level of environmental education for students;
- Promote and support the organization of cleaning campaigns inside and outside urban centers;
- Support local associations and citizens in general in carrying out initiatives in favor of protecting the environment and raising ecological awareness;
- Monitor and participate in the design and implementation of Government projects, whose intervention area falls on the municipal territory of Sal;
- Organize documentation, especially that related to graphic and pedagogical production and municipal statistical data related to the environment;
- Issue technical opinions and perform other tasks that are determined in the area of the environment.
In the scope of Public Hygiene and Cleaning:
- Define the system for cleaning, collecting and treating urban solid waste in the municipality, ensuring that actions are taken to implement it and ensuring compliance with the legal rules and procedures and agreements established in this matter;
- Define urban cleaning lots;
- To give an opinion and forward for decision by the City Council the proposals for the organization of MSW collection systems with regard to the location and type of containers, itineraries and collection times, implementation of selective collection;
- Manage the municipal sewer;
- To inspect the concessionary service for public cleaning, collection and treatment of solid urban waste;
- Organize the specifications, prepare and supervise contracts related to urban cleaning, collection and treatment of MSW;
- Support the cleaning campaigns organized by the citizens, ensuring materials and utensils for that purpose, as well as the transportation of garbage to the trash;
- Organize documentation and municipal statistical data concerning the cleaning and collection of MSW;
- Issue technical opinions and perform other tasks determined by the cleaning, collection and treatment of waste;
