At the invitation of the Sanitation and Environment department of the Municipality of Sal, representatives of the Health, Civil Protection, and Firemen of Sal, met with the council on the afternoon of June 7th, in the Paços do Concelho meeting room. , to plan an anti-vector campaign.
The campaign aims to collect in an organized manner, throughout the island, waste such as tires, car wrecks and others, demolish or seal abandoned slums that pose a danger to public health, produce and disseminate informational content to raise awareness of the local population for prevention vector diseases, using the various means of communication.
We emphasize that since 2018, Cape Verde has not registered any indigenous cases of malaria at the national level, thanks to the excellent work carried out by the health team, both at the Police Station and at the central level with the involvement of CCS-Sida as well, as well as various partners, the population and anti-vector fight agents who, on a day-to-day basis, have worked with great professionalism to maintain the country's sanitary security.
