- Stimulate support for projects in the field of sport through existing municipal regulations for this purpose;
- Promote the organization of sporting events of municipal interest;
- Promote a regular, systematic, planned and publicized Sports Agenda for the Municipality and monitor its execution;
- Promote the annual holding of the Sports Gala;
- Appreciate and give an opinion, when superiorly determined, on investment projects in infrastructures for sport;
- Promote the diversification of the practice of sports;
- Coordinate the monitoring of the implementation and evaluation of the policy for the creation, rehabilitation, maintenance and management of equipment and sports spaces;
- Promote the training of sports agents;
- Support and promote actions aimed at the development of personal, social and pedagogical skills, promoting training actions that, in particular, promote the values ​​of the sporting spirit;
- Coordinate and monitor partnerships with schools in the field of sport aimed at pre-school and school audiences to carry out regular activities open to the communities in the neighborhoods where they are integrated, with universities or higher education institutions that teach physical education, physiotherapy courses , nutrition, to support training actions for sports agents and with sports federations and associations for the development of sport in the neighborhoods;
- Collaborate with the Administration, Finance and Human Resources Department, in carrying out and updating the survey of existing municipal sports equipment.
