In the scope of Culture:


- Execute the municipal policy for culture, namely with regard to promoting the offer of a diversified cultural content;
- Promote and support cultural activities and encourage art as an inseparable part of the identity and prestige of Ilha do Sal;
- Encourage the increase of cultural activities, the promotion of quality and the internationalization of the municipality's culture;
- To stimulate, promote and encourage the cultural life of Ilha do Sal, not only in a perspective of preservation and diffusion, but also of the culture industry associated with tourism;


REGULATION FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF MUNICIPAL SERVICES


- Create the conditions for the democratization of Culture, through the creation of cultural spaces accessible to disadvantaged populations and cultural activities that can function as a complement to the educational system;
- Promote cultural exchange at the National and International level;
- Proceed to survey the cultural reality of the municipality and develop the necessary actions to preserve its identity;
- Ensure the conditions for the normal functioning of the municipal band;
- Plan and promote research, registration, inventory, classification, protection and dissemination of the municipality's historical and cultural heritage;

- Promote activities within the scope of the valorisation and dissemination of the historical-cultural heritage;

- Promote the dissemination of the municipality's historical and cultural values;
- Carry out studies, with specialized technical support, for the creation, organization and management of municipal libraries, toy libraries and the cultural center of the city of Santa Maria;
- Appreciate and give an opinion, when superiorly determined, on investment projects in infrastructure for culture;
- Stimulate support for cultural and artistic projects;
- Collaborate with the department responsible for the heritage area, in carrying out and updating the survey of existing municipal cultural infrastructures;
- Issue technical opinions and perform other tasks that are determined in the cultural area.
